AROUND AND ABOUT

If you fancy travelling further a field, there are various options, all easily reachable with a car or local public transport.

La Grave boasts some of the world's most reputed off-piste skiing with spectacular views all around, Les Deux Alpes and Alpe d'Huez are both big-league nearby resorts, or why not venture over to the Italian resorts of Claviere, Cesana and Sestriere? From nearby Montgenevre (just a 25 minute drive), you can ski over the Eagle's Pass into Italy - don't forget to stop for a big Italian lunch on the way!

Embrun and Gap are great places for a day off. Or, stay closer to 'home' and visit the old and new towns of Briançon - shops, restaurants, museums, swimming pool, ... And of course, the Italian town of Turin is less than two hours drive away.
