THE VILLAGE IN SUMMER

Whether you come for the clean mountain air, its culture or a thrill-seeking holiday, Le Monêtier Les Bains is the perfect base for summer visits. The mountains and their glaciers, the ice-cool river, the streams, the spring and summer flowers - and the heavenly colours of autumn later in the year - are sure to bring you back year after year.

At the end of June the village comes alive after its sleepy inter-season - expect to see small exhibitions by local artisans, antique markets, live bands, organised films and dances, ... the list is endless.

Many events take place and/or pass through the village - the Tour de France cyclists took on the Col du Lautaret after they left the village in 2006 - the L'Etape de Tour and the 58th Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré roadbike races also passed through.

Hotel Le Rif Blanc has stunning views of the mountain ranges that surround it and also overlooks the church in the centre of the village.

Walk to the south-facing mountains behind the village and you'll encounter some impressive chalets amongst fields of flowers.
