THE
VILLAGE IN WINTER
Take a stroll around the village and you'll discover 300 year old buildings and a network of narrow canals through which the hot spa water flows - steam rises from them on a cold day.
Less than one minutes walk from the L'Eglise de l'Assomption (church) is the Chapelle de Saint Pierre which houses the Musée d'Art Sacré (Museum of Sacred Art), and chapels Saint André and Saint Martin with their 15th and 16th century frescos.
A short walk to the pistes takes you over Le Grand Pont which crosses the Guisane River. Turn right after the bridge and you'll come across the renowned thermal spa baths which were discovered by the Romans.
Compare the menus of the village's restaurants and you'll find typical mountain cuisine including fondues and raclettes, plus sweet and savoury crêpes and pizzas. For après-ski and late drinks, head to one of the bars, such as Bar L'Alpen. |
