WALKING & HIKING

FLASH >> Nouveauté 2008 : Nicolas Militon, Accompagnateur en montagne diplômé

NEW FOR 2008 : Nicolas Militon, We're pleased to be working with Nicolas, a professional guide for summer walks, tours, nights in refuges, and more!

Right from the door of the hotel, you can choose from a variety of GR footpaths that will take you high above the village, zig-zagging north-facing ski slopes or south-facing tracks through corridors of trees. Discover the flora and fauna of the mountain and look out for black squirrels, marmottes and chamois. Pretty mountain restaurants decorate the surrounding hillsides such as the Peyra Juana at 1600 metres, just a 45 minute walk from the hotel.

Walking in Serre Chevalier

The hundreds of kilometres of paths in Serre Chevalier and the surrounding area are way-marked and graded so it's easy to plan routes for a two hour walk or a full day's trekking. Six of Serre Chevalier's mountain lifts run in the summer which means unnecessary climbing can be taken out of a walk. Take a look at Serre Chevalier's dedicated website to find out all about the lifts available: www.serre-chevalier-ski.com.

If you're after more of a challenge, then you can hike further afield in the company of friends or an experienced guide - we can help you hire one from the village.

Trail Running

Mountain runners will find superb training routes up and down the valley to work on their fitness. July sees runners pounding 53km in the Trail des Cerces (Merrell Sky Race), an incredible 2550m climb. Why not come back in winter and run the 28km (800m climb) Trail Blanc?
