WINTER IN SERRE CHEVALIER

Serre Chevalier is a winter sport wonderland. Bordering the Ecrins National Park with views of stunning glaciers,
it provides over 250km of marked pistes making it one of France's largest ski resorts.

A huge array of slopes run across the valley, varying from easy nursery slopes to challenging black runs and unforgettable off-piste descents.

Pré Chabert - the bottom of the pistes in Le Monêtier Les Bains

The nearest lift to the Hotel Le Rif Blanc is the 'Bachas' at Pre Chabert. You can walk there in just seven minutes or simply hop on the free shuttle bus which stops in front of the hotel if you prefer. This year (2007/08) a new area at the bottom of the pistes has been built housing an updated ski and boot locker area with showers and changing facilities plus ski and snowboard hire shops and a Doctors surgery.

Serre Chevalier's snow record is excellent with 2002/3, 2003/4 and 2005/6 being exceptional recent winters. Monêtier's North-facing slopes and high-altitude (village 1500 metres, highest lift drop-off 2830 metres) holds the snow right until the end of April.
